First, find a place in the room where you can literally get wedged, something that severely limits your movement. Ask yourself what it feels like to be stuck in this space. What about the space is uncomfortable? Explore the feelings, using language that is powerful. For example, "I feel confined, like I will never be able to get out of this place. Every portion of my body is being squeezed and I cannot draw a deep and satisfying breath. I want to be out of this space so I can move freely and get the feeling back into my toes."
Next, when you are finished exploring the feelings and thoughts associated with this period of confinement, remind yourself that you will be free of these feelings and thoughts once you move from this place. Step into a place that is comfortable, where you can stretch and move at will. Describe the physical, emotional, and mental experiences of being in this open space. Contrast the two spaces and their effects on you. Use vivid language to describe the differences. Imagine that you are also free from the limiting thought or attribute that has been holding you back from accomplishing what you want in your life. (For example, "I can't leave the job I don't want to get up in the morning for because I will never get another that pays as well.") What do you know in this place of freedom that you did not know when you were confined? Feel your energy shift.
